The Finest Hours


American disaster drama film directed by Craig Gillespie from a screenplay written by Scott Silver, Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy, based on the 2009 book by Casey Sherman and Michael J. Tougias. The film is based on the true story of the Pendleton rescue mission attempt in 1952 by Coast Guard ships, wherein two oil tankers were split asunder by a nor'easter.The film is due to be released by Walt Disney Pictures in the Disney Digital 3-D, RealD 3D, and IMAX 3D formats on January 29, 2016.


The Boy



The Boy, previously known as The Inhabitant, is an upcoming American supernatural horror film directed by William Brent Bell and written by Stacey Menear. The film stars Lauren Cohan. Filming began on March 10, 2015, in Victoria, British Columbia. The film is scheduled to be released by STX Entertainment on January 22, 2016.











London Has Fallen



This is a most inauspicious sign for the Gerard Butler-fronted London Has Fallen. The impending sequel to the 2013, White House-centric actioner Olympus Has Fallen has been pushed from its fall release date to what is traditionally a dumping ground for cinematic garbage, a kind of post-apocalyptic wasteland of movies.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gramercy Pictures, the genre production wing of Focus Features, has moved London Has Fallen from its original October 2 release date to January 22, 2016.







Kun Fu Panda 3


Kung Fu Panda 3 is an upcoming 3D American-Chinese computer-animated action comedy martial arts film, produced by DreamWorks Animation and Oriental DreamWorks, and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is being directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni. The film is being written by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger, produced by Melissa Cobb, and executive produced by Guillermo del Toro. It is a sequel to the 2011 film Kung Fu Panda 2 and the third installment in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. The film features the voices of Jack Black, Angelina Jolie Pitt, Dustin Hoffman, Lucy Liu, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, David Cross, James Hong, Bryan Cranston, Kate Hudson, and J. K. Simmons. It is scheduled to be released on January 29, 2016.





Allegiant


The Divergent Series: Allegiant (also known simply as Allegiant) is an upcoming American science fiction adventure film directed by Robert Schwentke with a screenplay by Noah Oppenheim, Adam Cooper, Bill Collage, and Stephen Chbosky. It is the first of two cinematic parts based on the novel Allegiant, the final book in the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth, and the third installment in The Divergent Series, produced by Lucy Fisher, Pouya Shabazian and Douglas Wick, and distributed by Summit Entertainment. The film stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Octavia Spencer, Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Naomi Watts, and Jeff Daniels. It is the sequel to The Divergent Series: Insurgent and will be followed by the concluding entry, The Divergent Series: Ascendant.Allegiant is scheduled to be released on March 18, 2016 in 3D, 2D, and in Digital 3D.


The Jungle Book


The Jungle Book is an upcoming American 3D live-animation adventure fantasy film directed by Jon Favreau, written by Justin Marks, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. It is a CGI-live-action remake of the 1967 animated film of the same name. The film stars Neel Sethi as Mowgli with the voice talents of Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong'o, Scarlett Johansson, Giancarlo Esposito, and Christopher Walken. The film is scheduled to be released in Disney Digital 3D, RealD 3D and IMAX 3D on April 15, 2016.

Warcraft (to be released internationally as Warcraft: The Beginning) is an upcoming 2016 American epic fantasy film directed by Duncan Jones and written by Chris Metzen. It is based on the Warcraft video game series and novels set in the world of Azeroth. The film stars Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Robert Kazinsky, Daniel Wu, Ruth Negga, Anna Galvin and Clancy Brown. The film portrays the origin story of the initial encounters between the humans and the orcs, with an emphasis upon both sides of the conflict, and will take place in a variety of locations established in the video game series.
The film was first announced in 2006 as a project partnership between Legendary Pictures and the game's developer, Blizzard Entertainment. Filming began on January 13, 2014 and concluded on May 23, 2014. The film is set to be released by Universal Pictures on June 10, 2016.


Alice Through Looking Glass

Alice Through the Looking Glass is an upcoming American adventure-fantasy film directed by James Bobin, written by Linda Woolverton and produced by Tim Burton. It is based on Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll and is the sequel to the 2010 film Alice in Wonderland. The film stars Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway and Sacha Baron Cohen. The film is set to be released by Walt Disney Pictures on May 27, 2016.


The Conjuring 2 

The Conjuring 2, also known under the working title of The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist, is an upcoming American supernatural horror film directed by James Wan. The film was written by Carey Hayes, Chad Hayes, Wan, and David Leslie Johnson. It is the sequel to the horror film The Conjuring, which was released on July 19, 2013. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as paranormal investigators and authors Ed and Lorraine Warren, who travel to England to investigate poltergeist activity at a council house in Enfield.
The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on June 10, 2016 by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema.



Finding Dory


Finding Dory is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated comedy adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the sequel to 2003's Finding Nemo. Andrew Stanton, who directed the original film, will return as writer and director, alongside Angus MacLane as the co-director. The film is scheduled to be released on June 17, 2016. Finding Dory will be focused on the amnesiac character Dory, and will explore the idea of her being reunited with her family. The film will take place six months after the events of Finding Nemo and will be set off the coast of California.





Assassin's Creed 


Assassin's Creed (marketed as Assassin's Creed: The Movie) is an upcoming action-adventure film based on the award-winning series of the same name. It is produced by and stars Michael Fassbender as Aguilar, a 15th century Spanish Assassin, and his present day descendant Callum Lynch.When Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) explores the memories of his ancestor Aguilar and gains the skills of a Master Assassin, he discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society.Directed by Justin Kurzel and produced by Ubisoft Motion Pictures and Frank Marshall,  the film will be distributed by 20th Century Fox for a planned 21 December 2016 release date.
